The historic city of Annapolis is located at the mouth of the Severn River, where it joins the Chesapeake Bay. It's harbor has always been a main focus of the city, as seen from this photo showing Main Street leading up to St. Anne's Church and the nearby Maryland State House.  Tourism plays a major role in the local economy.
